Letter of thanks; gives tribute to Lola Diomeng's great devotion to Mary by Annabelle Icasiano Clayton Thank you for the condolences. Friends of lola in "Pagpopoon kay Maria" gathered yesterday for Lola's "pa-siyam". (Can you pls. ask ambassador arizala to enlighten us on this tradition?) I remember Lola most especially when it comes to Maria. Ibelieve Lola Coring and Lola Ester were also members of "Poon kay Maria". The members of the group take turns in keeping Maria's statue in their house. I'm not sure if it's once a week or once a month when they do this. on their way to another house they pray the rosary. All i remember is Lola was always praying in front of Mary before going to bed and as soon as she woke up in the morning. Lola had such a great devotion to Mary. I'm glad my daughter Coco witnessed her Greatgrandma's devotion- something which I believe lola had passed on to her. Lola died on the feast of St. Ana - Mary's mom. As Miss Tessie Giron said, we believe Jesus' grandma and mom were there with lola to accompany her. I'm sure Lola is now very happy and at peace with her friends up in heaven and with my Lolo Delfin. I miss Lola very much. I'm glad that Coco and I had the chance to visit and enjoy her company last year in August. She was still strong then. The day that we were leaving, Lola cried - I never in my whole life had seen her cry in front of anybody. She's always been so strong & never shown that side of her. she said she's going to miss us especially coco. lola must knew then that we will never see each other again. being thousands of miles away made it really hard on us. I hope Lola can see us now even though we can't see her. We will always remember her for being so strong, loving, kind and generous grandma. We love her forever!!! we miss her so much. To everyone, we wish to acknowledge with gratitude your kind expression of sympathy. Sincerely, Annabelle
When Iwent to the Philippines for the 2nd time I helped in the medical mission. Lots of children needed surgery. Their lips were stuck to their nose. Some were burned all over their body. Kids were born with their fingers stuck together. My mom is a nurse but me and my dad helped even if we do not know anything about surgery. I also want to tell you that I think it is very important to have good drinking water for the children. When I went to the Philippines the first time I got very very sick. The water was very unsanitary so my body got sick. I was in the hospital for 8 days where my mom works. I wish the people of the Philippines the very best!!!!!!!!!! Please pray for my great grandma. Hope you have a good life!!! Love, Colette Marie Icasiano Clayton P.S. I ive in Macomb Twsp. Michigan
Mother writes about Coco's interest in Polillo children, frightening experience by Annabelle Icasiano Clayton My daughter Coco was thrilled to know that the kids in Polillo will have good water available soon. I showed her the article in Infanta website and she told me that she was happy about it. she kept on reading your article and she saved the Infanta website under her "favorites". looks like you'll now have another frequent visitor on Infanta website (probably your youngest visitor). She really seemed to be taken by this. I think Fr. Boy will get a kick out of this. you see, Fr. boy was here with us in Michigan when Coco was hospitalized at St. John Hospital for over a week from non stop vomiting and diarrhea (this happened as soon as we came back from the Philippines). Fr. Boy even went to see Coco at the hospital. The doctors had such a hard time diagnosing her. she was not responding to any treatment. the doctor then finally scheduled Coco for gastroscopy. I then made a long distance phone call and asked the NDV sisters to pray for Coco. Would you believe that miracle happened the next day? all of a sudden Coco stopped having diarrhea and vomiting, so the doctor postponed the procedure and ended up sending her home. It truly was amazing! I thank everyone who prayed for her. Prayer is sometimes more powerful than medicine.
